My indoor air purification systems use two different ion technologies that place an electrical charge on airborne particles causing them to clump together and drop to the floor - where you can vacuum or sweep them up instead of breathing them.

Technology

All of our indoor air purification systems use ions to remove particles from indoor air.  Particles such as allergens to drop out of indoor air providing seasonal allergy relief. 

Some of our air purifiers use radiant catalytic ionization by producing hydroxyl and peroxide ions.  These ions interact with odor causing molecules and neutralize them.

The air purifier I use and recommend also uses ozone to 'sanitize' an unoccupied room.  Just as water and pools can be cleansed with ozone, air can be too.  These systems are  capable of putting out higher levels of ozone in order to 'sanitize' a space when people are not present eliminating mold, bacteria, and odors.  Ozone technology will kill bacteria and mold, and eliminate strong odors, including pet odors, paint, tobacco smoke, or cooking odors.  (The state of California prohibits the use of ozone technology and a modified version of this system is available for sale there)
