Septic Tank Products:
If you have a septic tank you must maintain it in two ways. First, you must not use bleach or chlorine products to kill bacteria in your home. If you do, you'll also kill the bacteria in your septic. It is these bacteria that digest your waste and convert them in to nutrients. Second, it's useful to prevent your system from failing by occasionally adding bacteria to your system. This will keep your septic tank and drain field operating properly, returning cleansed water to the local aquifer. Failed septic tanks are a major source of polluted wells. The product I use in my septic is: Roebic K-37 Septic Tank Treatment. You buy it at your local hardware store.
