"In November of 2005, my wife and I moved into a new home we had planned for two years before we had it built. During our planning, we determined to take extra measures regarding clean air and water. Not having the technical back ground, we sought out experts in the field.
Jim McMahon was consulted regarding pure water. Jim asked for the most recent water test for the area. With the results of the test, Jim made certain recommendations regarding equipment needed to provide pure water to our new home.
We ordered the equipment and waited for construction to be nearly complete before consulting the plumber about installation. Because the plumber had no experience with the equipment, Jim talked him through the installation by telephone. The results are exactly what we hoped for; pure, clean, great tasting water.
After we had been in our new home only about a week, we invited my son and his family for dinner. I bragged to him about the water. There was a pitcher of ice water on the table. My son looked at me with a peculiar look on his face and asked me what was so good about the water. He said the taste of chlorine in the water from the pitcher was excessive. He was correct; the taste of chlorine was very evident.
After I recovered from my embarrassment, I remembered that our new refrigerator and its icemaker were hooked up to the water supply before the installation of the purification equipment. The pitcher of water and the chlorinated ice was discarded and replaced with a fresh pitcher of water and fresh ice. The difference in taste and water quality was absolutely amazing. The boast about the quality of our water was now confirmed. It was an unintended comparison, but very effectively demonstrated the value of the purification equipment we purchased.
Later, there was a small problem with the water flow as a result of installation. Jim was consulted and with his help, we satisfactorily corrected the problem. Jim remained in touch throughout the process, which took a few days of testing. He followed up regularly and showed a lot of concern for our satisfaction. His service was above and beyond expectations. The problem was solved and we are enjoying clean, pure, good tasting water.

"I am writing to thank you for your assistance in making the water supply in my home safe and healthy. As I told you when we first talked, both Kate and I had gone through an extensive health assessment back in March at Sanoviv Medical Institute. From that assessment we both found we had some degree of toxicity from heavy metals and chlorine, a common finding we found out. Though the heavy metals may have many sources, including our drinking water, the chlorine had to be coming from our water supply as neither of us swim regularly. "I wanted to send you a follow-up note after installing the Kitchen Defender filtration system. It's a very nice kit -- good quality parts, assembly and packaging materials. What a class act. Especially nice is the included Touch-Flo faucet, which is an improved design over the faucet that came with my previous MultiPure undersink model.
Now on to the important points: the water! The water tastes so much better than provided by my old filtration system. After installation of the Kitchen Defender, my water is clear, smells fresh, is nicely aerated with tiny bubbles, and is quite good. It's still not so "sweet" as the best mountain waters of my memories (Ah... the summit at Lassen State Park in No. California -- I hated to leave that spigot on the roadside!). Not perfect, but this gets close and pretty darn good for city water. Right now, I'd say the water is tasting as good or better than Crystal Geyser. At over a $1/liter when they're running a special sale at Walgreen's, I think I'm doing much better with the Kitchen Defender. Plus, it's cleaner, living water.

'Hi Jim, it's been about 18 months since I first contacted you about finding a solution to my water filtration issues. As you may recall, we have an artesian well which produces great water for us, however we have always had a moderately high iron count indicated by fixture staining and our whites being not so white. After contacting a few of the local water treatment companies we were consistently told that we needed a water softener as the solution. This probably would have solved the problem as well as conditioning the water with elements we didn't need nor did we want in our water. All of this, for the sum of about $3000 (several years ago). I was extremely impressed with your knowledge and your passion for clean, healthful water. From your office in Utah, you coordinated the testing, analyzed and discussed the results, then, engineered the proper system, which in my case was simply two large in-line filters, one to remove sediment and one to reduce the iron content. How simple. We are extremely pleased with the results. In this case the cost was low, the installation was easy (which you detailed, as well) and the maintenance is minimal. I change the sediment filter every 6 months and the iron (MAZ filter) every 12 months. We have wonderful water. I have passed on your name to others and have explained to them that their water problems will determine the solution and the cost to solve it, however, you can be assured that Jim will not sell you more that you need or have you spend more than you have to and the result will be good, clean healthful water.
